Jorge Andrés Castillo is a professional photographer, instructor, and editor from Caracas, Venezuela. Since 2018, Castillo has been an adjunct professor of Photography at Istituto Marangoni Miami. He has held significant roles as a photo editor for printed media and photo exhibitions. He has also contributed as a photographer and editor for media at the Doral Contemporary Art Museum and Arts Connections Foundation in Miami since 2020. Before these roles, Castillo taught Photography at the Miami Institute of Photography from 2018 to 2022. He also held the position of Professor of Photography at the School of Architecture at the Universidad Central de Venezuela for two decades. From 2007 to 2013, he was a film Professor at the School of Journalism at Universidad Católica Andrés Bello, Caracas. Castillo was the head of the Photography Department at El Nacional newspaper in Venezuela from 2001 to 2007, where he designed and led the transition from analog to digital Photography, establishing an updated production mode in alignment with international standards of news agencies. In 2018, Castillo ventured into entrepreneurship, establishing Jacvisual, a communication studio based in Miami. He earned a Master's in Communications Design from the University of Essen, Germany 1992. Castillo's artwork has received significant recognition and is displayed in galleries and museums worldwide.
